Storage and performance
How much storage is needed for the first sync and future syncs?
For the first sync, Juno weighs 31G and Pathfinder 289G. Future syncs will depend on the growth of the network.
What happens when the blockchain becomes larger than the available storage?
It will take some time until you reach 100% but whenever it's the case you should upgrade it or opt for a light client solution. If you look at Juno the entirety of their state is 31G against 289G for Pathfinder. Pathfinder will soon work on that. We are also working on Deoxys, our own client implementation at KasarLabs. This one will sync way faster because it integrates p2p and other performance optimizations.
Is the node consuming too much storage space (1% per day)?
With the latest version of Juno and its Snapshot, you will have significantly more available storage capacity.
How to handle storage issues, like reformatting an SD card or using a new SD card?
It is common for Windows to offer SD card reformatting. We ship the SD cards already flashed with our OS, so if you reformat it or decide to use another one, you will not have the Kasar OS installed. There is a step-by-step guide on how to reformat the Sd card in the documentation under the “Backup your SD card” section here.
