Synchronization and Update

How long does it take for the node to download the mainnet data?

It can take up to 24 hours. However, this also depends on the number of nodes syncing with the sequencer.

Why does the syncing process take a long time?

The syncing process is slowed down by all the nodes syncing from the same sequencer while the state is growing. This will be unlocked really soon with future updates.

Is it normal for the node to be stuck on a certain step (0%, 64%, unzip mainnet etc.)?

It is typical for downloading mainnet to take some time and unzipping the mainnet will also require waiting for about 24 hours for Pathfinder and 1 hour for Juno, though this duration may vary depending on your internet connection. If your connection speed is slow, the download time for the mainnet could be longer.

How to handle if a node has stopped syncing?

It is normal there is a large number of full nodes wanting to sync all at once.

What happens if the node is unplugged during the syncing process?

Your Starknode will keep syncing back from where it was left, even if you change the router.

Can the node use other providers like Infura or Alchemy as an RPC?

You can use Infura, blast, Chainstack, or any other RPC provider.
